The Espace Monte-Cristo

emc interieur

Since 2018 the Espace Monte-Cristo is dedicated to promoting contemporary sculpture with the mission of exhibiting and spreading the word about the works of the Villa Datris Foundation Collection. Entry is free and open to all and its program of events invites visitors to experiment and discover the world of contemporary sculpture from a different angle.

Situated at the heart of the Père-Lachaise district in an old industrial warehouse extending over 300 sq. metres, every year the Espace Monte-Cristo explores a new theme through surprising and original exhibitions devoted to the works of the Collection.
Coinciding with each new theme, a ‘carte blanche’ (open invitation) allows a chosen artist to exhibit their works in a part of the building, bringing their own particular slant to the exhibition.

President of the RAJA Group, Danièle Marcovici, also President and Founder of the Villa Datris Foundation, has always been attached to the historic location of her company, full of memories of her childhood and her beginnings in the profession.

It was back in 1954 that her mother, Rachel Marcovici, successfully launched a business specialising in the distribution of packaging for companies: Cartons RAJA.

This building, which used to serve as offices and for the storage of reused boxes, has gradually been transformed into an exhibition space to showcase the works of the Villa Datris Foundation Collection in a warm and welcoming setting.
